The world on a plate: multicultural food tour
The world on a plate: multicultural food tour
During the 15th and 16th centuries, thanks to its navigation skills, Portugal managed to create the largest commercial and maritime empire the world has ever seen. It stretched from South America to the Far East and along the coasts of Africa and India. At this time, Portuguese gastronomy acquired many multicultural influences. During the tour we will discover many curiosities and recipes that Portugal exports or imports from the rest of the world, and we will taste original recipes in very authentic and, for the most part, hidden places in Lisbon. Through Bairro Alto, Príncipe Real and Baixa we will travel from São Tomé to Asia, from Cape Verde to Angola, discovering flavors and stories of the most famous recipes from these countries.
